Synopsis

Book Cover, Roman Crazy by Nina Bocci and Alice ClaytonA delicious, sexy, laugh-out-loud modern romance about a newly single woman and her journey to find love again, from New York Times bestselling author Alice Clayton and debut author Nina Bocci.

Avery Bardot steps off the plane in Rome, looking for a fresh start. She’s left behind a soon-to-be ex-husband in Boston and plans to spend the summer with her best friend Daisy, licking her wounds—and perhaps a gelato or two. But when her American-expat friend throws her a welcome party on her first night, Avery’s thrown for a loop when she sees a man she never thought she’d see again: Italian architect Marcello Bianchi.

Marcello was the man—the one who got away. And now her past is colliding with her present, a present where she should be mourning the loss of her marriage and—hey, that fettuccine is delicious! And so is Marcello…

Slipping easily into the good life of summertime in Rome, Avery spends her days exploring a city that makes art historians swoon, and her nights swooning over her unexpected what was old is new again romance. It’s heady, it’s fevered, it’s wanton, and it’s crazy. But could this really be her new life? Or is it just a temporary reprieve before returning to the land of twin-set cardigans and crustless sandwiches?

A celebration of great friendship, passionate romance, and wonderful food, Roman Crazy is a lighthearted story of second chances and living life to the fullest.

An Exclusive Interview with Nina Bocci, Co-Author of Roman Crazy…

It’s no secret that you and Alice are great friends.  How did you decide to write Roman Crazy together, AND, do you have any thoughts about how collaborating on a book affected your friendship? Did you ever disagree, and if you did, how did you work that out?
We’ve been best friends for years now. We’d been threatening to write something together forever and this sort of just presented itself as the project to collaborate on. It hasn’t affected our friendship, thankfully. I don’t know that either of us would know what to do if it had a negative impact. We did of course disagree on a few things but we worked them out by wrestling and fist fights. I’m kidding. We’re actually no longer friends 😛
In all seriousness, anything we disagreed on we either stated our case for or we ran it by our editor Lauren who gave us her feedback. In the end, we’re both so happy with how the book turned out. We can’t wait to share it with everyone.
Did you get to make any field trips to Rome for research? Any “Roman Crazy” anecdotes or photos you can share?
I had actually just returned from Italy when the idea struck. A friend was going through an awful divorce and after talking to Alice about the whole situation, we decided it would make a great book or a series of books as it were. Many of the locations in the book were picked from my last trip there. We’re planning on visiting next summer with our friends and families to have a bit of a Roman Crazy tour!
You’ve now collaborated with multiple fantastic authors in Felony Ever After, and with the amazing Alice Clayton on Roman Crazy. Are you working on any other books, either alone or in collaboration? Tell readers what they can look forward to next…

Aw, thanks for asking! Felony Ever After was the most fun because Debra Anastasia and Helena Hunting, who I adore, came up with such an incredible idea and pulled amazing authors together to work on it. I hope we come together to do it again. Yes, I’m working on a myriad of things at the moment. Time is the problem though because I’m still actively working in publicity which I’ll never give up. I love it. and the authors I work with way too much. I have a YA series that I’ve been toying with, a contemp rom com series and a standalone that I’m currently writing titled The Ex-List which I absolutely love and can’t wait to share!

4.  Are any of the scenes in Roman Crazy based on your own crazy capers in real life (I’ve seen your FB photos…!)  How do you find that your everyday life influences you as you write?
HA! Well, I can tell you that Marcello’s family is based on my family because we’re loud and crazy. There’s also a specific thing that Avery does that is all me.I’ll share it after the book is out LOL.

5. List 5 of your favorite Italian things…. (the first five that come to mind).
My mother’s cooking. I’m from a giant Italian family and Mama’s cooking is at the top of that list, there is a family owned leather shop in Roma that I love; La Sella, the entire city of Venice but specifically The Bridge of Sighs, I can not tell you enough how stunning it is to see in person, blood orange lotion from Tocca, and Raoul Bova & Sophia Loren. A lot of people think my mother looks like her 😉

One of my Favorite Reads of 2016!

Verity Michaels is new to New York City, but even she knows riding in a stolen cab is not a normal way to meet someone. Damn it if that tattoo-covered would-be felon isn’t everywhere now, and lighting everything on fire under her skirt.

His name is Hudson Fenn, and he’s frustratingly impossible to pin down. He works as a bike messenger, but has the manners of a prince—along with a strange tendency toward breaking and entering. As much as Verity knows he’s not her type, and likely to land her in jail, she can’t help but find her truest self when they’re together.

Can she be brave enough to give Hudson a real chance? Will he be bold enough to reveal the man beneath the ink, or will his secrecy doom their connection? Also, WTF is the deal with Verity’s boss? No less than thirteen of your favorite romance writers have teamed up to tell this sexy, wacky, snort-inducing tale. With them you’ll visit the world’s most irritating office, a VIP room of questionable cleanliness, and the fanciest apartment a bike messenger has ever inhabited, but you’ll still never see this ending coming.

Two releases are planned in the coming year: Where Angels Lie, a dark romance; and an inspirational novella (name still under debate).
