Cream of the Crop: A New Favorite from Alice Clayton

Cream of the Crop (Hudson Valley, #2)Cream of the Crop by Alice Clayton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After Hudson Valley #1, Nuts, I expected to love Cream of the Crop. But it was more than love this time around; it was adoration. I adored this story and it’s beautiful, quirky, funny, sexy characters. I adored Bailey Falls, even more than the first time, including Logan and Chad, Trudy, Roxie, Leo, Polly and everyone else who makes it so utterly relatable. I adored the story until my eyes filled with bittersweet tears, and I adored it even more when the epilogue satisfied my every need.

Natalie is everything I love in a heroine. I felt her passion, and her heartbreak, to the bone. Oscar is officially a god to me, firmly positioned (pun intended) among the best alpha-male, dirty-talking farm-boys of all time. I thought I loved Leo – and I still love him – but Oscar is my new addiction.

Thank you, Alice Clayton. You rock. You’ve always rocked, but you’ve really hit your stride with his new series. It’s funny in all the right places, sexy as hell, irreverent, and absolutely beautiful in every way. I never imagined myself getting all misty over farmers, cows, mud, cheese and nuts…but I never imagined them through your eyes. And now all I want is more.

I can’t say enough about this series, except Clara is up next, and I’ll be first in line.

New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton brings her trademark blend of funny and sexy to this second contemporary romance in the brand-new Hudson Valley series!

Manhattan’s It Girl, Natalie Grayson, has it all: she’s a hot exec at a leading advertising firm, known industry-wide for her challenging and edgy campaigns. She’s got a large circle of friends, a family that loves her dearly, and her dance card is always full with handsome eligible bachelors. What else could a modern gal-about-town wish for? The answer, of course, is…cheese.

Natalie’s favorite part of each week is spending Saturday morning at the Union Square Farmer’s Market, where she indulges her love of all things triple cream. Her favorite booth also indulges her love of all things handsome. Oscar Mendoza, owner of the Bailey Falls Creamery and purveyor of the finest artisanal cheeses the Hudson Valley has to offer, is tall, dark, mysterious, and a bit oblivious. Or so she thinks. But that doesn’t stop Natalie from fantasizing about the size of his, ahem, milk can.

Romance is churning, passion is burning, and something incredible is rising to the top. Could it be…love?

Two releases are planned in the coming year: Where Angels Lie, a dark romance; and an inspirational novella (name still under debate).
